Cefalù

By Frank Benjamin Horn Hartvedt

I want everything the world holds … . I have never grown out of the infantile belief that the universe was made for me to suck. … This is the keynote of my life, the untrammeled delight in every possibility of existence, potential or actual. Aleister Crowley

Cefalù is a town located in Sicily, Italy. Edward Alexander «Aleister» Crowley, who said many beautiful things, who was courageous in ways few others were, but who also said and did things I cannot defend, spent some time there with his spiritual circle, in his day. I did not know that when I stayed in the town for a week toward the end of the 2000s. At the time, I was lying on a beach drafting a post for the website of the political society I had recently founded – a precursor to Maksima. I wrote about logos. About how I looked forward to hearing about vibrant men and women meeting each other randomly in city streets, all wearing the same logo. We made a very beautiful pin back then. With the logo you are familiar with.

A corresponding article regarding Maksima will not be written. The thinking behind the logo is being shelved here. I spoke with an intriguing fellow about this the other day. A kindred spirit. He likes it.

«But a logo we shall have,» he said. «Our own personal one. I’ve already ordered my ring.» «From Dexter?» I asked. «No, I was aiming a notch higher,» he said.

I didn’t know Dexter Rings in Kent could be surpassed. But he was as excited as a child. I completely understand. I’ve been ecstatic for over a month now after the FB-ring I lost has been replaced by an exact wonderful copy.
