The Frank Benjamin-series
From Religious Chains in Barkaleitet to Maksima
In March 2025, Frank Benjamin Horn Hartvedt (portrait above from 2017) authored The Frank Benjamin-series, an autobiographical philosophical manifesto. It tells the story of a movement from religious captivity to self-defined liberation, and the construction of the Antichrist persona.
Excerpt:
From the time I was an infant, I was steeped – pickled – in the Christian faith. I grew up in a Pentecostal family, with a father and mother who were – in all their thinking and practical work – entirely dedicated to their faith in the Lord Jesus and his father in heaven. My father Frank August was active in various local congregations in Bergen until around 1987/1988. Then he founded his own congregation; Menigheten Milde Due … [This congregation] became very central to my upbringing until a couple of years into the 1990s.
